Episode 13 – Miriam Teuma

Miriam has been lecturing within the Department of Youth and Community Studies at the University of Malta since 2001. She is the President of the Maltese Association of Youth Workers that seeks to promote the youth work profession. She has been the national correspondent for the European Knowledge Centre for Youth Policy, and a member of a number of EU groups, the Council of Europe’s Steering Committee for Youth (CDEJ), the Youth Working Party of the European Union and a vice-president of ERYICA (European Youth Information and Counselling Agency). She has also worked with the European Knowledge Centre for Youth Policy, SALTO Euromed and the EuroMed Youth Platform and has led the Maltese EU Presidency for the Youth Field in 2017. She has also represented Malta at the EU Youth Working Party and at EU Youth Conferences, as well as at Council of Europe level. In January, 2011, Miriam was appointed the first CEO of Agenzija Zghazagh, Malta’s Youth Agency. As Chief Executive she is responsible for implementing and coordinating the national youth policy Towards 2020 – a shared vision for the future of young people.
